Lazy Goat Casually Hitches a Ride on Top of Unbothered Tortoise Like the Diva That She Is

Caring for an exotic pet like a turtle can be a challenge for even the most thoughtful pet parent, but the challenges only grow as the pet grows. Imagine making space for a giant tortoise in your home! Many people can’t fathom having a large creature roaming in their home, but for some folks like @flowertowncharm, who own a South Carolina farm full of social animals, that’s just their reality.

The farm animal mama behind the camera spends a lot of time bonding with her animals, but not even she was prepared to see one of her goats hitching a ride on the back of their tortoise friend’s shell. Even though the reptile, appropriately named Tank, couldn’t care less about the hitchhiker on his back, Rose the goat seemed especially proud to have found a way to move without walking.

OMG, what a pro! Rose looks just as comfortable as Tank does with their mutual agreement, but no one’s more amused than their thousands of new online friends.

“Thought I was the only one who gets a slow Uber driver,” joked @hyrogen47. LOL! After seeing just how slowly some animals crawl, this man will never complain about leisurely driving again.

This may be the slowest mode of transportation known to man (or goat), but it’s still worth it for adorable goat Rose to take a load off while enjoying the view from above. That just leaves one question: why did she hop off so quickly?

Whatever was behind this bizarre behavior, commenter @prairie.seer got it right when she said, “That is the most goat thing that goat could possibly do.” After all, goats love to climb, explore, and eat lots of snacks, and they don’t care who might be in their way!

Giant Tortoises

Goats are a common sight on family farms, but tortoises certainly aren’t! These fascinating creatures can be larger and faster than many people believe, but with the right love and care (and some tortoise enrichment), they can outlive even their human family members.

“We also have pygmy goats and a sulcata named Flash that is about the same size,” commenter @kaverkev shared. “Our smallest goat, named Roy, spends a good portion of the day just riding around on Flash.”

Glad to know that Tank isn’t the only pet tortoise who’s giving out free rides! Friendship takes so many different forms, after all, and one of his forms just so happens to be the magic carpet!
