Goldendoodle Puppy Clocks in for ‘Witching Hour’ Like a Chaotic King

If you’ve ever had a puppy, you’re aware of how much energy they have to burn. It doesn’t matter if they’ve hiked 74,000 miles or played sunup to sundown. There’s always a little left in the tank for the pre-bedtime chaos.

Brew, the Goldendoodle, is Exhibit A, and his version of the 7-9 p.m. witching hour is a stark reminder that puppies never slow down when we want them to. If anything, that’s their internal clock’s “go-time” alarm, and all we can do is let them!

It’s hard not to feel a little envy watching the young pup zip and zoom at the end of a long day—I’m exhausted! He’s got zero stress, responsibilities, bills, or work, so I can imagine how freeing life feels. Brew is pure, unhinged chaos in the most adorable way!

The best part of the video is the contrast between the dog brothers. The older, calmer Goldendoodle and “ball pit king” Sampson stands still as little brother erupts like a wildfire! They’re the perfect example of how completely opposite siblings can be (I’m more of a Sampson, TBH).

Someone in the comments called this time “yappy hour,” and that about sums it up. I don’t know if Brew ever settled down. Legend has it, he’s still digging into the couch, running like he’s on fire, and using up all that youthful energy reserve we all wish we could have.

I’m assuming Brew slept at some point, but knowing puppies—who are too much like toddlers—he probably only needed about 1.5 hours of z’s, and then he was ready to get back at it (*sighs in jealously*).

Goldendoodle Puppies Have Energy To Spare

Seeing as little Brew is half Golden Retriever and half Poodle, his DNA is built on high energy. As a puppy, it’s going to be a whole other level, as you can see! As he gets older, he’ll adjust to life in a calmer state, like Sampson… maybe.

For now, witching hour is his favorite hour, and he’s going to live it up!
