Golden Retriever Performs Tricks on Her Own Hoping To Cash Out on Treats

Dogs may not communicate in quite the same way that we do, but they are very good at understanding cause and effect—and for many of them, that means that they quickly come to know that following directions and commands can lead to a delicious treat from their parents.

However, the Golden Retriever in the video below, whose name is Pearl, is not about to wait for her parents to give her a command when she wants a treat. Instead, she’s taking matters into her own paws like the independent woman she really is!

In this video from @pearlthegoldenpup, we see precious Pearl sitting as still as can be in her bed like the true angel dog she really is.

“My dog’s toxic trait is going ‘place’ without being told and hoping someone notices her being a good girl whenever she wants a treat,” Pearl’s mom wrote in the video.

For what it’s worth, Pearl is definitely pulling out some of her best material here… but she absolutely won’t be ignored. That little indignant stomp when the humans in the room aren’t realizing what she’s doing and praising her for it quickly enough is everything!

It’s easy to see why her mom says this works on her every time. How do you see a dog showing off her skills so beautifully without offering her all the treats she could ever dream of?!

Those who commented on the video certainly seem to agree, so if you feel that way, too, you are definitely not alone.

“She’s not only gorgeous, she’s also got brains,” one commenter wrote, while another posted, “She better get a treat every time!”

Pearl is a very good girl, so it’s no wonder she wants to show off all of her best tricks at every opportunity!
