Corgi Running Laps on a DIY Snow Track Is Quite Inspiring

Feeling a little uninspired this winter?

You aren’t the only one.

With the cold temperatures and the scary news, sometimes staying in bed just seems like the best answer.

Of course, you could turn on the Olympics and watch the incredible athletes do absolutely incredible things.

However, that is almost intimidating at times.

So perhaps this new video of a Corgi running laps on a DIY snow track will inspire you to get outside and be your best self!

Shared on the account @bb8.thecorgi, the Corgi BB8 (named for the adorable Star Wars droid) is just loving running around his DIY snow track in his yard.

He has zoomies to the fullest, and he is getting it done!

It almost makes you want to go run in the snow (or just watch this video a few times).

He is a fast little guy!

His parents wrote the caption, “Corgi Winter Olympics,” and we can see why!

Why Do Dogs Get Zoomies?

In another recent video from the same account, we see BB8 back at the track, but possibly going even faster.

His mom wrote the caption: “Corgi zoomies in the snow will go on and on. It’s a stress reliever.”

So the question is: Why do dogs get the zoomies?

First, let’s define zoomies.

Zoomies are high bursts of energy that often arise suddenly and are released by sprinting back and forth, running in circles (maybe in the snow), bouncing up and down, and jumping all over furniture.

There is actually a technical name for zoomies, which is frenetic random activity periods (FRAPs), according to the American Kennel Club.

But FRAPs aren’t quite as fun to say as zoomies!

OK, so now we know what they are, but why do dogs get zoomies?

Usually, zoomies are a way to release some tension and anxiety, according to Daily Paws.

Zoomies can also be a way to get warmer at a faster rate, which could apply to this video of BB8, as it looks pretty cold there.

Zoomies can also just be a way to celebrate being a happy dog!

For the most part, zoomies are a positive thing, but if you notice your pet getting them multiple times a day, and maybe at weird times, like early in the morning, you may need to exercise your pup more.
