Every year around this time, most people start to feel that it’s just about time for spring to arrive. They are tired of the cold, blustery weather, the snow, and even the early sunsets. Mabel, the Red Fox Labrador Retriever, is fed up with winter and is ready for the long-awaited poolside fun that warmer temperatures bring.
This sweet pup is famous for her pirate ship antics in her family’s backyard pool. Last summer, she was seen day after day, perfecting her skills… or sinking while trying. She’s clearly missing her swim sessions, and in a recent TikTok video, it’s easy to assume she’s even dreaming about the pool-time reunion that’s coming soon!
Mabel is an avid swimmer with a knack for making her blue plastic swimming pool sink. Last summer, the kiddie pool was called “The Blue Pearl,” and the Labrador was designated as the ship’s captain. Her mom recently saw her having a swimming dream, and watching her little paws flutter back and forth shows she’s definitely ready for those dog days of summer to return.

As the video plays, Mabel’s front paw gently moves. She’s very relaxed, but those paws aren’t ready for sleepy time. This Labrador absolutely loves being outside. She and her Dalmatian sister enjoy running around, and it’s clear that winter and indoor life are really cramping her style.
Let’s Check in With the Labrador’s Followers
Many of Mabel’s followers completely understand her sadness about being stuck inside. One commenter, @crazeykat, said, “I know how you feel, I dream of the sunny days, too!” while @sky admitted, “I’m right there with you, Mabs!”
@littlefish.bigpond13 jokingly commented, “That little paw is scooping water from the bottom of The Blue Pearl as it sinks!” 🤣 and Mom replied, saying, “Just dreaming of a pool-worthy ship!”
At this point in winter, most pups are eager for the long summer days of chasing balls, and in Mabel’s case, sinking ships. Luckily, she’ll be back at it sooner rather than later!
