Humongous Maine Coon Cat Out on Walk With Mom Will Stop People in Their Tracks

Some of the biggest cats in the world aren’t only those in the wild. Yes, jungle cats like leopards or jaguars—even lions—are probably what first comes to mind, but there’s another huge feline breed, and you can find them in many homes: Maine Coons. The larger-than-life breed shows what it means to be gorgeous, majestic, and a little intimidating with how big they can grow.

One stunning kitty named Ragnar is a Maine Coon whose size defies all expectations. During a walk with Mom, he nearly topples over her, challenging the way we think constitutes a “big cat!”

Nothing to see here in this video shared by @ragnar_the_mc as Mom casually carries the colossal cat down the street! In typical Maine Coon fashion, Ragnar appears to enjoy the ride almost as much as the attention.

As a certified “mama’s baby,” you can expect Ragnar to be treated like royalty, just like his TikTok bio says. He’s described as having “big paws, eyes that steal hearts, and irresistible charm,” which is evident in the clip. It’s the reason his more than 13,600 fans love leaving words of praise and support on each and every new post.

“What a hefty, handsome little man,” one adoring follower wrote. “Holy cow, what a tank!” another joked. “I didn’t realize he’s a lion,” another comedian added.

How Big Do Maine Coons Get?

Maine Coon cats are the gentle giants of the cat world, but also one of the largest domesticated feline breeds, as you can see in Ragnar. Males can grow to be 13 to 25 pounds or more and upward of 40 inches long, while females might get to 15 pounds and 40 inches long. It can take three to five years for these massive cats to reach their full growth potential, and that’s only part of what makes them so great.

These “dog-like” kitties usually love the water (playing in it or drinking from faucets) and will happily play fetch. They’re affectionate, sweet, and easygoing, usually making friends with fur companions, children, and everyone in between! Likewise, Maine Coons are the kind of pet you really can take for a walk because they love the outdoors (like dogs).

If you ever see someone carrying a humongous Maine Coon down the street, don’t panic. As the kings and queens of the cat world, they’re soaking up every second!
