Some things, like boarding passes, bags, and even broken hearts get left behind at airports every day. On February 2, however, Las Vegas airport workers were stunned when a dog was abandoned at a JetBlue ticket counter.
Around 11:30am, staff and police officers at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, freed the Goldendoodle dog, who was left tied to a carry-on baggage sizer. The woman who left him attempted to board her flight after finding out her dog, whom she was trying to pass off as a service dog, could not come with her. She was quickly located and arrested on charges of animal abandonment.
It’s unbelievable to think that anyone could leave behind their loyal four-legged friend. Even though this woman thought the dog would eventually be returned to her because of his microchip, her willingness to walk away and attempt to board her flight on her own proves officers did the right thing by finding the rescued dog a foster home.
“She didn’t deserve him!” commented @misscollins23. “I pray he finds a loving home.” With a friendly demeanor and such a sweet face, this sweet Doodle could charm anyone and everyone he meets.

To kick off his brand-new lease on life, rescuers named the pup JetBlue and dropped him off at The Animal Foundation shelter to begin a 10-day stray hold. Once those 10 days had passed, Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas brought him into their care.
“He licked our faces, wagged his tail and jumped up on us,” Danielle Roth, the rescue’s founder, told USA Today. “There was no stress, like he knew he was safe. Like he knew he was never going to be stressed again.”
JetBlue Flies to His Forever Home
Coincidentally, one of the very officers who responded to the pup’s call had been approved to adopt through Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas for months before JetBlue entered heir care. Officer Skeeter Black’s family had been wanting to adopt a Goldendoodle, and the stars aligned perfectly for them to add JetBlue to their family.
Out of thoudsands of adoption applications, it only made sense for Officer Black and his family to become the rescue pup’s forever family. This is the perfect happy ending for such a sweet and friendly dog!
