There is something truly magnetic about cats like Maine Coons. Those eyes that seem to read your thoughts, that luxurious waterfall of fur, the playful but confident attitude, and, of course, that majestic size.
If you have ever shared space with one, you know they carry themselves with the quiet pride of a jungle cat who just happens to nap on couches and chase wand toys. They are the gentle giants of the cat world and somehow manage to be both regal and goofy at the same time.
Juneau is a perfect example. In fact, watching his growth over the last year almost feels like watching time-lapse magic. One minute, he was just a baby with wide, curious eyes and a tiny black smudge across his nose. Next, he suddenly looks like a feline runway model with giant paws and a tail that could double as a feather boa.
Take a look at this video shared by @giantmainecooncat on October 28 to truly appreciate it:
When his mom first brought him home, Juneau (@juneauthemainecoon) was just adorable in that kitten phase Maine Coons are known for. Fast-forward, and now he has that magnificent lion’s mane blooming along his chest, ears that seem to grow taller every month, and a presence that makes you stop scrolling to stare. It is wild to see how long his body has gotten and how much fluff he carries now.

He is not done growing either. Maine Coons take their time maturing, and many do not reach their full size until they are three or even four years old. That means Juneau still has room to fill out.
Based on how he looks now, his second birthday might bring a cat so big he needs his own seat at the table. His mom might need a gym membership just to lift him.
Someone asked in the comments how much he weighed, and @juneauthemainecoon replied that he was around 20 pounds.

Fans were in love. One person shared, “Omg I need this cat!” Another wrote, “I want one!” Someone else mentioned they plan to adopt a Maine Coon soon and hope to find a rescue.
How Big Do Maine Coons Get?
According to Maine Coon Cat Nation, these gentle giants can keep maturing well past their first year. Their growth curve shows steady physical development alongside behavioral maturity as they go from lanky, goofy teens to strong, confident adults.
Males commonly reach 12 to 25 pounds, and many continue to fill out until around age 4. That gradual growth is part of what makes this breed so striking because you truly see them transform from fluffy baby to regal feline in slow motion.
If you have a Maine Coon in your life, you already know the truth. They do not just get bigger. They grow into your heart right along the way.
