There are so many meaningful ways to help animals in need, from donating to favorite rescues to volunteering at local kennels. Some people, like @dope_kitchen (AKA Nicole), even get the chance to rescue dogs from the street.
While driving through Oklahoma on a cross-country road trip, Nicole drove by a malnourished dog on the side of the road. Once she stopped, she saw that the skinny mama dog even had two puppies! The trio had been abandoned and was clearly grateful for the help, so there was no way Nicole was leaving them behind.
And consider this your warning: Nicole is just a little excited to help these adorable dogs, so turn your volume down if you don’t want to hear any cursing!
These sweet abandoned dogs couldn’t be more adorable! Even though they’d been let down by humans before, Mama was so happy to make a new friend that she could hardly contain herself. Once she knew that Nicole was a safe person, she stuck to her side like glue!
“Mama was like, ‘Come on, kids—that’s a Subaru!’” a viewer named Izzy commented. As a fellow Subaru owner, I can confirm this logic! The company is very vocal about its love for animals, and many of its customers feel the very same way.

Other commenters were impressed by the mama dog’s resilience for her puppies, especially given that she was so malnourished herself. @Samandthebirds wrote, “Those babies look so healthy and well-fed. She was fading away but making sure they weren’t.” Pass the tissues, please!
Some guessed that Mama is a Great Pyrenees based on her beautiful eyes and fluffy coat. Whether or not that’s the case, it’s heartbreaking to see how thin she is. Fortunately, Nicole was able to play an effective game of car Tetris to squeeze everything plus three dogs inside, and the family was one step closer to a comfortable forever home.
Roadside Dog Rescue
Many animal lovers imagine what it would be like to rescue an abandoned dog from the side of the road, but few actually get the opportunity to do so. Even though this is technically a good thing (dogs don’t belong anywhere near the road!), many viewers admitted to living vicariously through Nicole and her selfless actions.
In an update video, Nicole explained to her viewers that the rescue dog family was resting comfortably in a warm foster home. She, her partner, and her coworkers have all rallied in support of these adorable dogs, and they’ve raised over $1000 for the dogs’ care. Their futures may still be uncertain, but there’s no doubt they’re in the best possible place, thanks to their generous rescuer.
