These days, it seems like you could dream up any combination of dog breeds, mix them together, and create a totally unique, sometimes rare, new batch of pups. Just when I think I’ve seen the cutest new puppy, I’m quickly reminded that there are about 20 other mixed canines with their own special look.
Enter Bailey: a Shar-Pei–Cocker Spaniel mix who quite literally looks like a mini hippo! This little angel has the fluffiest ears in all the land from the Spaniel portion, and the classic wrinkled look of a Shar-Pei. She’s a real stunner—especially when she obsesses over her pacifier like a human baby!
Had I not stumbled onto Bailey’s account, I wouldn’t have known this stunning mix exists. My bar for what adorable looks like has now been raised to impossible heights, thanks to this little lady! It doesn’t hurt that her fascination with pacifiers makes her all the more sweeter.
It’s the squeaking of the toy combined with her fluffy, floppy ears and the way her face gets all smushed while she chews that made me rewatch the clip about 15 times (and she gets even more beautiful each time).

Both of my dogs love a good braided chew, but neither cares much for squeaky toys to soothe their chewing needs. Bailey makes me want to dig up my kids’ old pacifiers and see what happens!
The “Pacifier Chronicles” show Bailey chomping on her pacifiers in a slew of cute videos. She really loves those things! There’s even a process to her method of chewing and enjoying, which again, makes her off-the-charts precious.

When you mix the two, you get a really special dog whose personality shines. That much is clear with Bailey. Whatever she’s doing, chewing on, or into from now on, I’ll be following along—if only for another look at that sweet, squishy, mini hippo face!
