There are many advantages to having an intelligent dog. They train easily, they’re loyal, and they tend to be well-behaved.
But as any pet parent knows, a clever pup with a big personality can also be a handful, especially when they figure out how to get exactly what they want.
For Trixie, a French Bulldog, that means foot massages. This pint-sized queen has discovered that the magic “foot rub” button gives her instant access to one of her favorite things in the world. And now that she’s made the connection, her parents might never get another moment’s peace.
Take a look at the hilarious predicament in this video shared by (@poptart_frenchie) on October 24:
Wearing her yellow pajamas and a look that could melt anyone’s heart, Trixie wastes no time pressing her button when she’s ready for some pampering. The second her dad stops rubbing her paws, she slaps that button again with purpose, as if to say, “Excuse me, we weren’t finished.”

It’s impossible not to laugh watching her determination. She’s a girl who knows her value and isn’t afraid to ask for what she wants. Anyone who lives with a Frenchie knows that look, too. The one that declares, “I’m adorable, and you will do as I wish.”
As a dog mom to a very smart Frenchie mix myself, I can only imagine the chaos if my pup learned this trick. I’d probably hear the “walk” or “outside” button every two minutes until I gave in. These dogs may be small, but they’ve mastered the art of getting our attention and our hearts.

Teaching Dogs How to “Talk” With Buttons
According to the American Kennel Club, dogs can be taught to use talk buttons to express simple words and needs through consistency and repetition. Trainers recommend starting with a few basic buttons, such as “outside,” “play,” or “treat,” paired with clear verbal cues. Over time, dogs learn to associate each sound with an action or object. Breeds known for intelligence often pick it up especially fast.
It’s clear Trixie has mastered it. And who could say no to that face? She may not speak our language, but she’s got communication down to an art form, and she’s getting every foot rub she deserves.
