In the five years I’ve known my Boston terrier nephew, I don’t know exactly which he hates more: taking a bath or going to the vet. Both options are up high on his hate list, which also includes not being invited to the bathroom when a human has to go. The truth is, many dogs don’t enjoy the vet, mostly because they don’t have any fond memories of being there. We’ve seen countless times how some pets will do anything to avoid going through those doors, and others who prefer to hide in the exam rooms, hoping the vet will take pity on them. While it’s important to get them checked up for their health, it’s hard not to feel bad for them.
One dog mom tried to get ahead of the drama by providing their chocolate Labrador retriever with a fair warning that they were headed to the vet the next day, and unfortunately, she may have just made him dread it even more.

Woody the Lab Gets a Pre-Vet Visit Pep Talk
While we know she meant well, Woody’s human may have made him even more anxious about his next vet visit. Filmed the night before, Woody’s mom delivers the news that they will be headed to the vet the next morning, and even gives him a play-by-play of what to expect so he isn’t surprised when things go south.

She lets him know that the visit will entail his getting on a scale, which will likely lead to a conversation about Woody being overweight, a comment he didn’t appreciate. Later, she tells him this is due to their last visit, when the vet told them he needed to lose weight, something Woody may or may not have ignored.
The video ends with Woody letting out a heavy sigh and dread for his next vet visit. While we aren’t sure exactly how that vet visit went, we do know that the comment section came straight to Woody’s defence. One user wrote, “Woody’s not overweight. He’s just SO loveable that he needs to be bigger to contain all the loveability.”
Another commenter added, “He’s just more squeezable…you know, like Charmin…squeezabley soft.” While we all want Woody to be nice and healthy, we couldn’t help but agree with one user who expressed, “92 pounds of pure love.”
