You know who your dog’s favorite person is? If you said you, I hate to break it to you, but that might not be true! It’s actually probably the person who keeps some tasty treats on them. Just take a look at the way that one Golden Retriever in Hermosa Beach, California reacted to his neighbor who always gives him a little something to eat. The dog was practically sprinting to the man. Sorry, Mom. This is his BFF for life.
Mom and her Golden Retriever Zebby were out for their daily walk when something really exciting happened.
The two were walking along when the Golden spotted someone very special ahead. It was a human friend who always has dog treats on him. That’s a very important person! It’s no wonder that the Golden Retriever started running ahead of his mama and was dragging her behind.

It’s like the dog was saying, “Hurry up, Mom. I have to get those treats before anyone else!”
The man was just as excited to see Zebby. He had a bag of treats ready to go for the dog, and Zebby knew to pop up onto his back legs so that he could get a better look at the snack.
“POV my Golden Retriever when he sees his friend who gives him treats on our walk. Summoning him with the shaking of the bag,” the Golden Retriever’s human wrote in the caption.
Commenters loved this beautiful friendship.
“This is what life’s about right here,” wrote one person.
“They’re each other’s biggest fan,” someone else added.
“Love that he’s shaking the bag of treats from a distance,” another commenter teased.
“To be frank, that’s how I be running when somebody shakes a bag of chips,” one person joked.
Training Your Dog to Like Strangers
Dogs aren’t always the best with people they don’t know. So how do you help them past their sense of stranger danger?
If you have a guest in your home that your dog hasn’t met, have them ignore the pup completely. It sounds strange, but it helps your dog realize the stranger isn’t a threat. Similarly, your guest can throw treats out for your dog without making eye contact. This a low-pressure way for your dog to get acclimated with your guest’s presence. Plus, there are treats!
