Horse’s Emotional Response After Seeing ‘His Mare’ For the First Time in Over a Year Has People Sobbing

People and animals agree that time apart from loved ones can be difficult, but the moment they’re back together again feels like no time has passed at all. Reunions are some of the most beautiful and joyful moments in life, whether it’s friends meeting up for weekly dinners or a mom and baby squirrel finding each other after being separated.

Equestrian @nenahdemunster got to witness the most heartwarming reunion when he brought her mustang, Hunk, to see ‘his mare’ for the first time in over a year. The horses had been together when they were still wild mustangs, and it’s safe to say that their love hasn’t changed one bit.

He recognized her immediately! From the way he stopped and stared at his lady to the gentle kisses he couldn’t seem to stop, this horse has affection to spare. It’s no wonder commenters loved their adorable bond!

“That’s his wife, and you can’t tell me otherwise,” commented @mdls981. I think she’s right! They chose one another when they were still wild horses, and they would choose each other again if they could. Maybe one day they’ll get to be together again!

Viewer @viridian_ghost turned a moving moment into a heartbreaking one by writing, “you’re as beautiful as the day I lost you.” This quote may be from How to Train Your Dragon 2, but it fits this scene perfectly.

While some fans were reaching for the tissues, others were impressed with the loving horses’ calm demeanor. @Namesmari said, “For being wild only 1.5 years ago, he sure is a sweet boy. Well done on his training.” You can say that again!

Training Wild Horses

By definition, a mustang is a breed of wild horse found in the Western United States. Although many mustangs are still untamed, some, like Hunk and his lady, are also domesticated. As impressive as it may seem to win over the heart of a wild horse, commenter @courney_way7 explained, “Must mustangs I’ve trained calm down pretty quick and adjust nicely. They really are sweet souls.”

That certainly seems to be the case for Hunk and his girl! These horses have so much love in their hearts that it’s impossible to miss. Let’s hope they’ll get to be together again one day!
