With all the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes we need a break. Most days of the week, I’ll go for a run to block out all the noise, but some days, I spend an embarrassing amount of time scrolling for cute or funny pet videos to fill the dark and endless void in my soul.
If you can relate, you might appreciate what a Tabby cat named Elvis has to offer. Not only does this boy come in XXL (and proud of it), but his roaring purrs might be the answer to all of life’s problems, if only for the duration of this cute clip.
Whenever @julienashawaty shares a new post about her cat-sitting adventures, it’s a good day, and this sweet kitty is one reason why. The large-and-in-charge feline’s ferocious purrs for more than a minute straight are good for bringing your blood pressure down. Call him the Zen Master because Elvis is a soul-soothing gift from the cat gods, and we thank him (and Aunt Julie) for it!

Elvis is a real cutie—that much is obvious—but he’s also a skilled hunter. Technically, he’s just watching Bird TV, and he’s not really hunting like wild cats outdoors, but his way is much more adorable!
Why Do Cats Purr?
Whenever one of my three cats comes to me for something (usually treats), I will give them anything they want if a purr is involved. That’s because it usually means they’re happy, content, or relaxed, and if my presence or pets make them feel that way, SWOON!
Some kitties might purr when chilling, eating, or self-soothing. If you’ve ever been around a cat kneading something soft (aka making biscuits), they’re probably purring since the act reminds them of being a kitten with their mama. Regardless of why, purrs are one of the best ASMR sounds around.
That said, whatever’s making precious Elvis happy enough to bless us all with his sweet sounds, we’re not worthy!
