Alpaca Farmer Rescues Baby Cow and the Alpacas Have Questions

The Artsy Farmer, Bari, oversees her family-owned alpaca farm. While there are plenty of alpacas running around, there are no cattle, or at least not until recently. The farm manager approached Bari and explained he’d found an orphaned cow calf that needed a home.

Not many people can say no to a baby cow, and so they decided to raise the calf, whom they aptly named Ghost (you’ll see why when you watch the video). Watch as the farm manager introduces the alpacas to the calf. Since they weren’t used to seeing any animals other than dogs, the herd couldn’t figure out exactly what he was holding; it certainly didn’t look like them!

Bari said in the caption, “When your cattleman farm manager tells you there’s an orphan calf in need of help, of course, you tell him he can bring it to the farm!

The alpacas definitely have questions tho lol!”

Over the last week, the herd has gotten more used to having a baby cow around, but Bari jokes that they still have questions!

Viewers Leave Funny Comments About the Alpacas Reactions to the Calf

Viewers had some funny things to say about the perplexed alpacas. Like, @mrs_jeng__ who said what the alpacas were probably thinking: “Where is its neck?!” @madelinerae23 added, “What the f is that?” It’s a baby! “I know it’s a baby, what’s it doing here?”

@snark21883 said simply, “Alpacas: I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE BABY.” Another commenter said that the alpacas all look so confused, then @chloeleigh added, “Why does he look like that?” @Tamibird agreed, “In their defense, that’s a funny looking alpaca…”

“The alpacas are unsure by the dog is 100% on board!”, pointed out @kaleigherieshields, and we thought the same thing when we watched the video again.

@rileyates shared, “Our pig got out and the only reason I knew is because the alpaca sounded the alarm. They really are the best at telling me when *literally anything* different is happening LOL! Is it less helpful when it’s the neighbor getting a new roof? Yes, but I’ll never complain.”

Commenter @thighsman trophy winner won the comments section with “Maybe necks time, Dad.” See what he did there?!
