When adding a new fur baby into the family, it can be a nerve-racking experience to introduce them to the other pets in your life. The same goes for other animals that you may be close to, or animals that may live nearby. Thankfully, the pet parent behind the @greyhoundbambi TikTok had no issues introducing their rescued Greyhound to the horses next door.
They caught the entire exchange in a recent video. “Bambi’s first time seeing horses 🥺,” they described in the post caption, and their greeting is probably one of the sweetest things you’ll see today. Go ahead and press play to watch.
Talk about becoming fast friends! “The neighbours all wanted to come say ‘hi’ to our new rescue Greyhound,” read the on-screen text, and that they did. If the enthusiastic way they rushed over to the fence is any indication, this beautiful herd of horses couldn’t wait to meet the new Greyhound next door.
Commenter @shanna_belase would probably agree, as they wrote, “The fact that they’re running to you speaks so many green flags.”
They’re like, ‘OMG, a puppy!’ 🤗,” expressed @its.malayka, and that seems like a pretty accurate assumption because these horses are excited to interact with Bambi. And Bambi the Greyhound was just as happy to make some friends.
TikTok audiences also enjoyed seeing them connect. “Horses’ friendships with animals are some of my favorites,” @kionihall added.
“New member of the pack alert!” @captainchaoskiwi chimed in, and they may be on to something. Bambi and the horses were gently sniffing and introducing themselves to one another. @harrisridesbikes even said, “They recognise a fellow (noodle) horse.”
@thssm11 stated, “My whippet loves horses too. Is this a hound thing?” Good question.

Horses and Greyhounds Have a Few Things in Common
It isn’t surprising that Bambi and the horses would be getting along so well and so soon. Horses and dogs are both known for their sweet temperaments when properly cared for in the right environments. Thanks to the internet, we’ve seen many adorable pairings between horses and other animals.
Beyond that, Greyhounds and horses share some other similar traits, such as the fact that they’re fast runners and can reach some pretty high speeds when they get going. So those horses may recognize a kindred spirit in Bambi. And we all can’t wait to see more of their blossoming friendship!
