Every house cat, despite the fluff and the beauty (and the silliness and antics), has the heart and instinct of a born hunter in every inch of their body, always waiting for the right moment.
This gorgeous boy is sure he’s found his moment, as this video from TikTok’er @Purrince Charlie shows.
He appears from around a corner with his prize firmly gripped in his mouth and carries it proudly past the camera. His mom thinks he’s convinced he’s found a bag of furry mice, which, in a cat’s world, is a major jackpot. The sad reality is, despite looking really similar, it’s just a bag of mom’s beauty blenders.
Someone is going to be very disappointed when they finally get this bag open…
Commenters on TikTok aren’t so convinced and think maybe he knew exactly what he was getting! One replied, “Beauty king,” while another thought, “a win is a win.”
Others have cats who are no strangers to beauty products: “My cat is obsessed with powder puffs. He “hunts” them and hides them all over the house,” replied one, and another said, “Our cats play fetch with beauty blenders.”
And one pointed out that he did manage to get the general shape correct: “To be fair, those are the same shape as mouse toys, lol.” Excellent point!
Why Cats Decide Certain Things Belong To Them

If you’ve ever parented a cat, you know their taste in “favorite objects” can be diverse and interesting as each cat themselves.
I had a cat who had a favorite olive. Yep, an olive must’ve rolled away from someone, the cat got it, and he played with that thing constantly-even initiating games of fetch with it.
No one had the heart to take it away until it turned into a much bigger olive, coated in dirt, dust, hair, and whatever else it picked up along the way. We tried replacing it with a fresh one… which he wanted nothing to do with.

So, why do cats choose what they choose? Sometimes these objects will trigger the same instincts as toys or prey-especially if they’re lightweight, soft, and easy to carry. Bonus points if there’s an interesting texture to it that they’re not exposed to often. Once a cat finds something that checks all those boxes-be it olive or beauty blender-it becomes a favorite fast, even if we don’t quite see the logic.
