Sometimes, dogs come with some extra special quirks that we can’t understand at all. I, for one, don’t understand my fur nephew’s obsession with having to go potty near a busy intersection to have something to look at while he does his business. I’ve also seen some dogs with unique toy picks and sleeping positions that make for hilarious clips. Almost like humans, it seems as if dogs’ personalities are a wonderful box of surprises.
At least that is the case for this English bulldog, who recently went viral for his absolute love of balloons. While many would guess he is obsessed with popping the balloons, he is much more interested in carrying them in his mouth and caring for them like a soft toy. Although no one has any idea of why or how, we all have to admit that watching him carefully hold the balloon in his mouth is downright adorable.

Watch This English Bulldog Lose It Over Balloons
While photographing Vancouver’s annual pet parade, popular dog photographer Justin Veenema ran into another canine celebrity. Mickey is an English bulldog whose passion for balloons far exceeds anyone we’ve ever seen. In his caption, Justin explains, “Mickey is a 4-year-old English Bulldog with heterochromia who taught himself how to carry balloons without popping them. He figured out all on his own that if he holds it by the little nubbin, it stays intact. Now whenever he sees a balloon, he has to take it hahaha.”

Speaking with Mickey’s human, we learn that Mickey’s obsession came out of nowhere when she was decorating her house for a gathering. That’s when Mickey realized he needed the balloon, even though he kept popping it. Later on, Mickey learned that if he just gently held onto the balloon tie, the balloon wouldn’t pop anymore. Thus began Mickey’s obsession.
Next to Mickey was Rocco, a French bulldog that doesn’t seem to care for balloons as much as his brother. In the comments, users were absolutely amazed by the dog’s gentle manner with the balloons and his incredible eyes that dazzle in blue. “I’ve never seen an English bully with blue eyes! He is absolutely adorable with his balloon!” commented one fan. Another user chimed in with, “I love how the owner has same joy and excitement in her eyes like her dogs, they’re a great match together.”
Forget dog treats! We are ready to hand over all of the balloons to Mickey if we ever meet him!
