This Dog Made a Daring Escape From His Owner—but His Chonky Body Had Other Plans

No matter how hard we try, it can be hard for our bodies to catch up. Sometimes that even means getting ourselves caught after breaking free. At least that’s what happened to one escapist dog who managed to break free from his mother’s grasp.

While for many escaping their parent’s grasp means a wild goose chase that goes on for a while, this one was a little less thrilling and quite shorter. Unfortunately for this ferocious pup, his voluminous body didn’t quite get the memo that they were headed on a wild run. At the end, that was his downfall.

Although this chase didn’t last very long, at least it was very entertaining for all of us to bear witness. Well, for everyone except this dog mom, who had to chase him.

Hilarious Reaction to This Dog Breaking for Freedom

Set to Chappell Roan’s “The Subway,” which belts “She’s got away!” one feisty pup made a break for it just two minutes into their walk. Scurrying down the street with their tiny little legs, this dog probably thought they were getting way further than they actually were.

Holding onto his leash, this dog mom sprinted after him after their dog broke loose. Fortunately for her, this tiny pup’s chonky body couldn’t exactly get him very far. The exact distance this dog got before being caught was a little under half a block.

While he may not have made it far, his spirit surely was there. In the comments, many were having the time of their life watching this dog try to make his grand escape. “SHES GOT SHES GOT AWAYY PERFECT SOUND CHOICE,” commented one user. Another fan of the video added, “He must have heard that there was a buffet down the street!!!!”

Others couldn’t help but give their own anecdotes on their escape artists, “A dog can give you an arm workout just by pulling, but if you wanna work on cardio with high stress and anxiety levels… As someone with a medium sized strong dog that has gotten out of her leash multiple times.”

This dog mom may have captured this chonky, adorable pup this time, but I am sure he is first in line for a sturdier harness very soon.
