One animal that has always fascinated me is the capybara. When I first learned of them—which is way later in life than I would like to admit—I was instantly hooked. Their short legs and round bodies made them just too cute for words. Add in their large snout, small ears and almost no tail, and you have a true winner! That is why when I saw the video of a capybara mom and kid by @wildlifeworldzoo, the TikTok account of Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park in Litchfield Park, Ariz., I knew I was in for a real treat.
This adorable TikTok opens with the words “Enjoy a little morning synchronized ear wiggle,” written across the screen. Nothing could prepare you for what you were about to see next. A mom capybara and her baby are snuggled up on the ground, enjoying the shade. The tiny baby is perched on the mother’s side, ready for a day of lounging. As they enjoy their afternoon, we get to enjoy the cutest performance of a lifetime. In unison, both the mom and the kid begin to wiggle their ears. There is not one moment when the ears do not move at the same time.
The best part, you may ask? When the video goes into slow-mo. As if we needed any more proof that these precious animals were in sync, the video slows down to show us just how impressive their skills really are. The ears continue wiggling at the same time, as if they have spent all morning practicing this show for us. And I am thankful that they did, as this may be the sweetest event I have ever attended.

The Cutest Ear Wiggle Performance
People absolutely adore this mom and her kid, spending the afternoon in complete synchronization. The video has gained over 87,000 likes, 29,000 shares and a massive 252,000 views. One TikToker commented, “They definitely practiced that 😌,” while another stated, “I enjoyed that very much, thank you.”
Feeling exactly how I did when I first saw this clip, another viewer commented, “WHAT! That’s the cutest thing I’ve seen in my whole entire life!” And finally, another asked the one question we all have been thinking, “Now, how do I get one? Asking for a friend of course.”
It is safe to say I will never skip a capybara video ever again! (As if I ever really did.) These adorable animals always brighten my day whenever they appear on the screen. And the fact that this one came with a little performance only made it ten times better!
