Have you ever romanticized what your new puppy will be like? We definitely have. It’s easy to think about all of the cuteness, the snuggles, and the hilarious, clumsy antics. And it’s just as easy to forget about the teething, potty training, and occasional sleepless nights. That’s why we recently found this TikTok video from TikTok user @pearlgoldengirl so hilarious and spot-on.

The video features Pearl, a golden retriever puppy, and has the caption, “Have you ever seen a fearless puppy?!” The 20-second video opens with a shot of Pearl, lying on the ground, looking very precious, innocent, and sweet. The caption on the video reads, “The puppy I thought I was getting.” Then it cuts to an absolutely adorable shot of Pearl sleeping, her head resting on a stuffed animal. Next, it goes to another clip of Pearl sitting very sweetly and calmly, wearing a cute bandana that says “Little Sis.” Next is a clip of Pearl sitting in a cooking pot on a counter, looking absolutely precious.

But then the video’s music changes, and the following clip has the caption, “The puppy I got,” and starts with Pearl falling backward. Then it’s a clip of Pearl tugging on a human’s dress. Then it cuts to a clip of Pearl having some seriously fast zoomies in the backyard. Then it’s Pearl tugging on a blanket with her teeth again. After that, it goes to a clip that is probably our favorite of the entire video. Somehow Pearl is latched onto her older sibling’s tail and is getting flung around in circles as the older Golden Retriever tries to get her off their tail.

This goes on for the rest of the video with a lot of the same things: Pearl the puppy attacking the older golden retriever, pulling down blankets and sheets, falling off things like the side of a couch and into a pool. Basically, Pearl is an all-around puppy menace.

Of course, many other TikTok users had to chime in in the comment section. “She’s definitely a younger sister,” TikTok user @PrettyMtnMama commented. “We all come with fine print,” added TikTok user @Parker&Finley. “Goldens are full of surprise behaviors!!!” added TikTok user @lynnbeaman11.
