American Bully Is Beside Herself With Excitement When Picking Grandma up From the Airport

Dogs definitely have their favorite people even if they don’t get to see them very often. For an American Bully named Lulu, one of those special people is her grandma. Lulu recently tagged along with her mom to pick Grandma up from the airport, and the moment she spotted her, she absolutely lost it in the cutest way possible!

Lulu’s mom said that it’s always so much fun to pick up Grandma, and we could all tell. We have a feeling she’s not going to leave her grandma’s side during her visit!

Commenters’ Sweet Reactions to Lulu’s Excitement Over Seeing Grandma

Viewers left nearly 2,000 comments about Lulu’s excitement, and some of them really made us smile. @Viridiana pointed out, “Such a grandma’s girl!” @Kyle Perkins made us laugh when he joked, “So nice of you to let grandma’s dog live with you.”

@Lemonhead got more than 36,000 likes when they shared, “Her face the moment you said Gramma!!!” @esteef13 agreed, “The first bark and stare was ‘Don’t be playing with me!’ LOL!” @KristenKay added, “I love how grandma sat in the back with her grandpup!”

Commenter @dose0fsarahtonin pointed out, “She picked up the toy cause she couldn’t handle the excitement!” Our dog does the same thing!

Just how long can dogs remember people that they don’t see on a regular basis? According to The Dog People, they can remember for their whole lives, “Dogs’ short-term memory is fleeting, and their long-term memory is a web of associations rather than a movie-like memory.”

Dr. Joel Ehrenzweig, a veterinarian and geriatric memory and aging researcher at Veterinary Health Research Centers, explains that dogs remember us by scent more than by anything else. “Dog’s sense of smell is phenomenal,” Ehrenzweig explains. “It’s their strongest memory trigger.” Additionally, dogs might also recognize the faces of other dogs and people, but it likely holds less weight in their memory compared to other things, like the sound of your voice.”

It’s clear that Lulu recognized her Grandma the instant she saw her and wasted no time giving her the best “welcome back” ever. Moments like these remind us just how deep our pets’ love runs, and how lucky we are to be their favorite humans.
