When it’s pitch-black outside at 3 p.m. and temps dip to numbers that make me instantly grumpy, it’s time to drag out the annual “care package.” I’m talking about that box stuffed somewhere in the closet with all the cozy blankets, fuzzy socks, and maybe an ugly holiday sweater or three.
If you’re one lucky duck (literally) like Stew, the 4th quarter also means relaxing the stress of the day away in front of a toasty fire. If you didn’t think you could be jealous of a duck, think again!

Stew isn’t your average duck by the pond. This boy is loved and cared for and is a big fan of fires to warm up his webbed tootsies. He’s giving Christmas card vibes, and I’m here for it.
The thought process that might’ve gone through Stew’s head makes me laugh. He’s so dignified and graceful with that one foot up like a ballerina! It’s also amusing that this duck runs the house and feels comfortable enough stealing the best fireplace spot with no apologies!

The viral 19-second clip garnered more than 3.2 million likes and nearly 20k TikTok comments in just two days, which is a good reminder that the internet loves wacky pet content… like a duck toasting his feet by the fire. As you can imagine, many of the comments poke fun at the irony of the moment caught on camera.
“Not him slow roasting when you named him STEW,” one person joked. “Not the duck roasting himself,” another added. “Not the kind of roasted duck I was expecting,” another wrote.
Stew Also Loves His Daily Walks
All jokes aside, this duck is more than a pet—he’s family. When he isn’t warming up inside, he and his duck siblings love to go on their daily walks with Dad. They’ve clearly imprinted and think they’re just small dogs as they stroll through the neighborhood!
That’s one block I’d love to live on. Their love for their family is too cute. I’m sure after all that exercise, Stew was due for another cozy fire session—’tis the season!
