Pancake the Bulldog Adorably Lays On His Human Like a Furry Weighted Blanket

Pancake the Bulldog is having an issue with boundaries.

Described by her humans as an “unhinged English Bulldog,” Pancake is a social media–savvy pup whose humans often feature her in viral videos documenting the adorable pooch’s life. Pancake’s latest antics include pretending to be a weighted blanket and hoping nobody notices she’s not.

In an adorable video shared to social media, Pancake can be seen nestled into her human with no signs of movement. The precious pup is hunkered down on her human’s legs, her adorable face beckoning not to be moved.

“Who needs a weighted blanket when you have a 45-pound potato with boundary issues?” Pancake’s parent captions the video that has sent commenters directly to the comment section.

“I didn’t even realize you were under there for a sec,” commented one fan. Another added, “To have such royalty laying on me like that would make me happy lol.”

“I’ll take that potato over the weighted blanket in a heartbeat!! ❤️❤️❤️,” commented another.

Judging by Pancake’s other videos, her humans are in for a long winter of cuddles, naps, and likely some numb limbs and shoulders. Such is the life of a human who has been anointed by their English Bulldog as the favored napping spot.

Why Dogs Love Laying on Their Humans

Sure, 45 pounds of pup laying on you for a prolonged period can seem like a boundary issue, but pups actually like to rest on their humans as a sign of affection. Dogs reinforce their bond with their humans through physical contact like napping and lap sitting.

A human’s body can also provide a source of heat and, equally important, comfort for dogs. Anxious pups may calm themselves by seeking the closeness of their human. And territorial pooches may lay on their human as a way to spread their scent and claim said human as theirs.
