The absolute best thing about dogs is their unmatched loyalty. The level of devotion cannot be compared to any other animal on earth, and it’s not only with us. Many of these faithful fur companions show the same level of “friend ’til the end” for their buddies, too.

No one takes friendship more seriously than “Good Boy Toro.” The Black Lab takes loyalty up several hundred notches by sitting outside his dog friend Scuppers’ house for hours in hopes of a little playtime. This is one heartwarming bestie tale for the books!

If you look up “patient” in the doggy dictionary, you’ll find Toro still sitting outside Scuppers’ door. It doesn’t matter that the two have only met once because to Toro, that’s his BFF. To add salt to the wound, Scuppers is keenly aware that Toro’s outside waiting in the dark for him… but he’s not allowed out (*cries*)!

If you’ve ever had a friend you’d do anything for, you’ll relate to this!

As captioned, though Toro only met Scuppers once, he “instantly decided they were best friends” and “now, they’re inseparable.” To make your heart grow three more sizes, the sweet Black Lab knows where his buddy lives and “will sit in his yard for hours just hoping he comes out.” If that’s not a real, true friend, I don’t know what is!

The only downside to this precious story is that now, Mom and Dad can’t even say the name “Scuppers” and have since nicknamed him “Boobers” to prevent Toro from racing out the door to his bestie’s house!

Described by fans as “a forbidden love,” another added, “Legend has it Toro is still waiting for Scuppers.” It doesn’t help that Scuppers is aware of Toro’s request to come play as he looks through the window with deep sorrow.

We need an emo song for the whole melodramatic scene to drive the point home! Hopefully, a reunion comes soon, but in the meantime, the adorable Lab moved on. When he did, he found the funniest thing to carry around the house. See for yourself!

Whether they’re Yellow Labs, Black Labs, or other-colored Labradors, they all have a few key traits in common: They’re “famously friendly,” social, and loyal. Described by the AKC as outgoing and high-spirited, these dogs thrive when they have a fur friend or are surrounded by their people. It’s exactly why Labs are a favorite for nearly every type of family.

Toro is an example of everything great about these pups. The only downside? If there’s the slightest chance of playing with a new friend, they’ll wait out everyone until it happens—like Toro!
