Runt-of-the-Litter Foster Kitten’s Priceless Bond With Great Pyrenees Is Melting Hearts

Animal mom and rescue advocate Tracy Fosterling has the perfect name for someone who fosters pets, but she also has the best sidekick to help her out. Lily is a gentle Great Pyrenees who’s been readjusting to life after her third major knee surgery, and she’s always looking for opportunities to nourish her motherly side.

Lily is the sweetest foster sister to rescue dogs and cats, but she’s taken on her most important role yet now that she has Wee Woo. This tiny foster kitten may be the runt of the litter, but he feels ten feet tall when his BFF is around. They’re a match made in heaven!

How sweet are these foster siblings? Lily is the most unfazed dog, even with a kitten crawling all over her, but beneath all her nonchalance is a goldmine of love for her littlest brother.

“Lily’s paws are bigger than Wee Woo’s head,” commented @mama2gracekelly. Isn’t it the cutest thing? This gentle giant and her tiny BFF couldn’t be more different, but they love each other as if they were exactly the same.

Not only are these heartwarming interactions entertaining for us and confidence-boosting for the tiny kitten, but they’re also special for Lily! It must be difficult for an active dog like her to rest downstairs for weeks following her surgery, but visits from her bestie make everything all better.

@Giraffeprincess77 had everyone laughing out loud when she wrote, “So your Great Pyrenees does not have a great pair of knees?” After a few more weeks of rest and Wee Woo cuddles, that won’t be the case anymore!

Great Pyrenees: The Ultimate Babysitter

As special as this story is, it’s not entirely unusual to see a Great Pyrenees caring for another animal. After all, they are one of the most popular Livestock Guardian Dog breeds! With their protective and loyal natures, they’ll never hesitate to look out for loved ones of any species.

“Great Pyrenees are absolutely the nannies of the domesticated animal world,” agreed @wtafwjd. “The very example of why we don’t deserve dogs.”

Lily may have melted our hearts with her bond with Wee Woo, but no one benefits from their love like Wee Woo himself. She’s one of the main reasons he’s growing up so big and strong!
