We have a full list of holiday events and fundraisers that a few of our Forever Home partners are hosting very soon. If you have the time and funds to support these local shelter events, I’m sure they would consider any of your holiday gifts and donations as a Christmas blessing.
The North Country Animal League will be hosting a photos with Santa event this Saturday, December 13th. NCAL encourages you to bring your friendly dogs, kids, and/or your whole family for a festive holiday photo with the one and only Santa. A professional photographer will be snapping the photos for you and yours. NCAL suggests a donation of $25 per photo or $20 if you bring a bag of dog and/or cat food for their Pet Food Pantry. All proceeds will support and benefit the animals in NCAL’s care.
The Rutland County Humane Society is putting out the word about the 46th Annual Critter Community Holiday Card. They explain this fundraiser as an excellent opportunity to help homeless animals while also honoring a loved one or simply wishing everyone a happy holiday season. RCHS says that donations are due by December 15th and that the Critter Card will appear in the December 23rd edition of the Rutland Herald for everyone to enjoy. For more information, make sure to visit the Rutland County Humane Society’s website.
The Central Vermont Humane Society just kicked off their annual Holiday Raffle. You can purchase tickets to be put toward 40 “drool-worthy” items this year. Handmade jewelry, quilts, experiences like an overnight stay at the Grafton Inn or tickets for a scenic cruise on Lake Champlain, gift certificates to local restaurants and so much more. All items for this year’s raffle were donated, so 100% of proceeds will benefit animals at CVHS. This winter raffle ticket sales will end on January 9th and the drawings will be held on January 16th. For more details about the ticket prices and how to purchase them, please visit the Central Vermont Humane Society’s website.
Lastly, the Queen City Cat Lounge boasts more than just being the only cat lounge in the Burlington area where you can play with cats and kittens. They also have a little gift shop in the lobby with homemade gifts from various small, local businesses. While perusing the shelves, you may find the purrr-fect gift for that special someone.
Happy “howl-days” and thank you for all the support you have shown our Forever Home partners this past year, and always. Here’s to a successful 2026 to come!
