Golden Retrievers are humorous and entertaining pups, and sometimes they don’t even realize when they’re being extremely funny. Give them a backyard, a body of water, and something even remotely interesting to pick up, and suddenly you’ve got yourself a full-on comedy special.
That’s exactly what happens in one silly video of a Golden Retriever who turns simple moments by the pool into a humorous but impressive scavenger hunt. He proudly “rescues” the weirdest assortment of items from the water, and every retrieval is funnier than the last. Take a look at this silly boy.
TikTok user The Moriarty Family (@imbluethesiberiann) shared a clip of their three dogs out by the pool, but one of the three was busy retrieving things out of the water while the other two watched on.
In each clip, spliced together to make this short video, Bauer jumps into the water and swims, then he dives to the bottom and retrieves something. While he’s busy doing that, his older brothers, a Siberian Husky named Blue, and a Golden named Maverick, keep a close eye.

Bauer is having a great time with each clip and item he adds to his collection, and people in the comments are just as thrilled to watch his shenanigans.
One person wrote, “I love how Mav stands on the side and follows him like a good lifeguard.”
Another shared, “So you got Mavi trained for the air and Bauer for the sea, while the Husky is the force protecting the home and the kitties. You got your own force of nature.”
Someone else added, “Someone needs to find a way to bottle up and sell us some of Bauer’s energy.”

Golden Retrievers Are Known for Their Love of Water
Bauer is having a great time in the water, and his siblings are, too. Which isn’t surprising, given that Goldens are made for the water, based on their history.
According to Wag! the history of the Golden Retriever is the reason for their obsession with water. As their name suggests, the Golden Retriever would help hunters retrieve the ducks and fowl from the water. This means they needed to not only have no fear of the water, but also be able to swim. Their coats are perfect for the water—featuring a thick undercoat to keep them warm with a water-repellent outer layer.
Bauer is an incredible retriever, and he will continue to improve as he ages!
