Humans know that when it’s cold outside, it’s best to stay indoors, snuggled up in the warmth, instead of going out. Unfortunately, some of our pets don’t agree, and winter weather can be a tough adjustment for them—especially for the ones who have regular access to swimming pools and would live in the water if they could!
One family recently gave their outdoor-loving pup an indoor swim session in the bathtub to help her get over the winter blues. According to their TikTok video, it was a balmy 32 degrees outside, and their Labrador was devastated that she couldn’t take her usual dip in the pool. The indoor solution seemed to suit her just fine, though.
Mabel, a Red Fox Labrador puppy, spent all summer with her Dalmatian sister perfecting her “sailboat” skills in their backyard pool. On any given day, she could be spotted setting sail in her makeshift pirate ship, and no matter how many times she sank, she was always ready for more.

In the video caption, Mom asks, “Is Mabel spoiled? Maybe definitely!” while showing viewers her bathtub filling up. She did mention they were only adding enough water to “get her feet wet,” implying that they’ve done this before for the Labrador.
Mabel slowly steps into the tub and even takes a taste of the water, no doubt checking to see if the temperature is to her liking. Her sister pup, Millie, comes to visit, and the two wrestle over a toy for a few moments. It’s amusing that the Dalmatian is bundled up in a sweater while the Labrador is wishing she could be outside in the cold pool!

What Do the Fans Have To Say?
One commenter joked, “Mabel was definitely a fish in her past life!” Another asked, “What kind of sea is this? 😂😂 Millie looks so cute in her sweater!!” Mom responded with a laugh, saying, “More like a shallow bay!”
It’s amazing what we’ll do for our fur babies! This video from @mabelthefox clearly demonstrates that our four-legged family members mean just as much to us as we mean to them.
