Corgi Finds His Christmas Gift Early Under the Tree and Decides He Makes His Own Rules

Christmas is just around the corner and patience for presents is starting to wear thin. Whether you’re trying to prompt loved ones for hints about your gifts or shaking those wrapped boxes under the tree, curiosity can get the best of us in the days leading up to December 25.

Dyson the Corgi was a little sneaky and took matters into his own paws when he came across his present under the tree.

In the Tiktok from @dysonthecorgi, the pushy pooch was sniffing around a gift bag and wanted to find out what was inside.

“Dyson, that is your Christmas gift, buddy,” his mom cautioned. “It’s not Christmas time yet.”

The conscientious Corgi just gave her a look that basically said, “yeah, so?” and continued his investigation. Dyson worked his way through the tissue paper with his nose and grabbed hold of some soft material with his teeth, but dropped it before he could get it out of the bag.

Trying to calculate a new strategy, Dyson used his paw for leverage as he made another attempt to get the gift out. He buried his nose in the bag to clear out the tissue paper and scrutinized how he could go in from a different angle. His mom continued to gently remind him that it wasn’t the big day yet and he needed to be patient, but the pup wouldn’t listen to reason.

Finally, Dyson went to the tried-and-true last resort — he gave his mom those irresistible “puppy eyes” in the hopes her heart would melt and she would give him his gift. But she held strong.

“I can’t — It’s not Christmas time,” she told him. “It’s your gift, but you’ve got to wait for Christmas.”

Dyson Didn’t Give Up

His mom showed great restraint, but that didn’t stop Dyson. The Corgi voiced his frustration with some disgruntled barks, added some whines for good measure and went back to his gift-opening mission.

Corgis are known for their loving spirit and affectionate personality, yet they can also be a bit stubborn and mischevious. Dyson seems to be exhibiting those latter qualities around this emotional time of year and probably won’t give up until he gets to the bottom of the back, regardless of the date on the calendar.
