Jack Russell Terrier’s Unbridled Enthusiasm Over the Christmas Tree Is the Best

Christmas season is in full swing with decked halls and trimmed trees filling city streets and retail stores. The excitement and anticipation leading up to December 25 is contagious and gets stronger as each day passes. This enthusiasm is felt by our fur babies as well, where they’re also wondering what awaits them under the tree.

Dexter the Jack Russell is a heartwarming example of embracing the Christmas spirit as he makes the most of the festive holiday décor in his home.

In the TikTok from @dexter.woos, the joyful Jack Russell couldn’t contain his excitement every time he got near the Christmas tree in his home. Dexter voiced his delight with a cacophony of high-pitched “woos” as he marveled at the twinkling lights and pranced around with pleasure. Apparently, Dexter’s spirits are merry and bright on a daily basis in December.

“Dexter every time he sees a Christmas tree,” the onscreen text explained, with the caption adding, “Just a boy who knows a Christmas tree means presents and turkey are just around the corner.”

The Jack Russell’s tail never stopped wagging when he was near the tree, and even brought his toys over to share in the magic. While we don’t know if he was anticipating Santa’s arrival, an assortment of Christmas biscuits, a boatload of presents or all of the above, Dexter was obviously counting down the days until December 25.

Do Dogs Enjoy the Holidays?

Many canine breeds are highly intelligence, yet dogs lack the cognitive ability to truly understand the significance related to certain dates. While our fur babies may not comprehend the reason for the festive season, there are many things they enjoy during the holidays.

Dogs can sense the feelings of joy and excitment from their loved ones and reflect those upbeat emotions. There is also plenty of food around this time of year and our canine cuties know we’re in a generous mood.

For pooches who love to party, there are plenty of opportunities to socialize around the holidays and our canine cuties are often the center of attention.

Best of all, they get to spend time with their family members since many people take extra days off around this time of year.

Dexter’s zeal for Christmas makes one wonder what he’ll do for New Year’s!
