One oh-so-cute baby goat has a mission. All they want to do is get up a single porch stair. That’s it. Just one. Then they’ll be on the porch next to a very cool cat that’s sitting there. And then… well, I’m not sure what the plan is. For all I know, the baby goat wants to climb that cat and balance on them, because that’s what goats do. But for now, it’s innocent enough. Climb that stair.
The cute baby goat undertakes this endeavor with *so* much enthusiasm and persistence. I count 5 unrealized hops, where the goal is not met. But they’re trying so hard! So much hopping.
Finally, the baby wears themselves out, and looks at the cat like, “How in the world did you get up there?” or maybe that little bleet and the look on their face is them imploring the cat for a little help. It doesn’t matter–none of it matters because the cat, the crotchety cat responds by dashing the goals of that baby goat by delivering a mighty blow square to the tiny goat’s head, which sends them tumbling backwards.
The animal world is cruel! Behold the villain cat, who doesn’t care at all about the hopes and dreams of an adorable tiny goat.
A good number of people are either rooting for the cat or identifying with them, “I’m the cat. Some days you’re just like, ‘Give it a rest, Happy!,'” and “Awe, look at that poor little thumper. I knew that cat was going to give him a lesson. He never had a chance.”
But most were Team Baby Goat and were finding deeper meaning in the whole thing. “God gave us cats to remind us to be patient but remembered to give us cats to also remind us to have limits to our patience.”

And a lot could see the similarities in their own lives. “I knew I had an invisible cat in front of me pushing me back, lol.”
I’m sure the baby goat will shake it off, and get right back to hopping, and when they do, the cat will be waiting for them. If the goat hasn’t learned the lesson today, the cat will be around to provide the refresher — “All About Gravity: 101” — whenever needed.
