Rottweiler Refuses to Let Mom Shut the Door and It’s the Sweetest

I always have a hard time leaving my dogs. Whether it’s for an hour or the entire day, the look on their faces when I’m shutting the door breaks my heart. My Dachshund literally leaves the room in disbelief that I’m not taking her with me, and my Pug mix gives me that heartbreaking expression that seems to say “why are you leaving me?”

Pebble the Rottweiler has figured out a way to keep her mom from saying goodbye, at least for a few minutes longer.

In the TikTok from @pebbletherottie, the precious pooch stood at the door with her nose blocking any attempt to close it.

“Always the hardest goodbye,” the onscreen text explained as Pebble’s mom was trying to temporarily separate from her canine cutie. Her mom tried to slowly shut the door but Pebble kept intervening.

“I Iove you,” Pebble’s mom said. “I have to close it. Can you let me close it, please?”

The heartwrenching look on Pebble’s face seemed to plead for her mom to keep the door open — forever. The Rottweiler’s sweet expression was impossible to ignore. Her mother tried to end off on a positive note but to no avail.

“Pebble, have a good day — make good choices,” she told her fur baby, but the tender-hearted Rottie placed her snout right back between the door and the frame.

Finally, Pebble’s mom gently touched the persistent pooch’s chin and nudged her far enough where she could get the door closed. “Thank you — I love you, bye,” she said to reassure Pebble, though it must’ve taken every ounce of strength leave the devoted dog.

Purina Lobbied for Pebble

Followers were completely smitten with Pebble and couldn’t picture turning away from that sweet face. Even a top pet brand weighed in on the difficult scene.

“We would have said the heck with it, we’re working from home today,” Purina posted.

“I’d never wanna leave with that face,” one remarked.

“And you still closed the door?!” another posted.

“The snoot in the door is the absolute worst! Always makes me feel so bad having to leave,” someone related.

Maybe Pebble’s mom can check into that work-from-home idea.
