Baby Sea Otters’ Adorable Chirps Are Melting Hearts Across the Internet

We all love videos of sweet baby animals doing adorable things, and the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher just proved exactly why. The aquarium recently welcomed three new baby otters, and ever since, they’ve been sharing the cutest updates as they introduce the pups to everyone.

In this clip, the trio is snuggled up together in a soft blanket, cozy, comfy, and utterly content as they enjoy a nap. Make sure your sound is on so you can hear their tiny chirps…it’s the serotonin boost you didn’t even know you needed today!

We loved what the Aquarium had to say in the caption, “Please enjoy these baby otter chirps for a moment of pure joy. You may now carry on scrolling—happier than before.” They were not wrong; their video totally made our day!

Commenters Love the Baby Otters’ Chirps

Viewers loved the sweet video of the baby otters little chirps of contentment. One commenter shared, “One of them’s batteries ain’t workin…”

@bullitthedragon wondered the same thing we all were asking: “Why is this 3 hours long?” @tross0821 added, “Who cares, this has to be the cutest thing on the net right now!”

Commenter @gigibythebeach asked, “What’s more fun than a bowl full of sleepy otters?!?” We can’t think of anything!

Howdy, nataliehoage

@easternblot shared, “My cat is VERY interested in this video. He thinks they’re birds!” @glendaf_illustrations added, “My cat got up off the couch to investigate the baby sounds with heavy maternal purring!”

This made us wonder why otters chirp. North American Nature explains, “High-pitched chirping noises are commonly heard during playful interactions or when otters express excitement, generating an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm.”

Chirps also mean the same thing for pups, “Otter pups also produce chirping sounds while engaging in playful activities. These chirps convey a sense of curiosity and exploration, reflecting their willingness to learn about their environment and interact with their peers.”

These pups seem to little to be chirping playfully (we think we’re calling for mom!), but for whatever the reason they’re doing it, the internet can’t get enough!
