Black Labrador Retriever Is Feeling a Lazy Day and Has the Funniest Way of Showing It

I don’t know about you, but I just feel like lazing around the house this week. Yep, wouldn’t it be nice to go back and lay around in bed? I know one person who would agree with me — a Black Lab named Mabel. The dog was so happy to be snuggling with her mama, she didn’t want it to end! So much so that the Lab was trying to keep Mom in bed for as long as possible.

Ahhhh. Mabel was really feeling comfy in her bed. She could stay there all day if her mama let her. Sadly, Mom needed to get up and get on with her day, but the Black Lab was putting up a valiant fight to stay put.

The dog’s mama just wanted to get up and take a shower, is that so wrong? According to Mabel it is. The Black Lab was really hoping to hang around in bed for just a little bit longer. She made her case in the cutest way possible.

“It’s time for me to get up,” the dog mom told her pup. It was more than just a little hint. She gave the Lab lots of reasons why it was time to start the day, but Mabel didn’t care. All she wanted was just five more minutes. She kept rolling all over her mama to keep her where she was. But finally, the Labrador Retriever got the message.

People in the comments section were on Mabel’s side.

“It’s actually illegal to get up when your pet is laying on you, I don’t make the rules,” joked one person.

“Honestly she made some solid arguments,” someone else teased.

“Dogs have such a short lifespan. Stay in bed…..” one person pointed out.

“Mabel said, ‘Request denied. Try again in an hour,’” kidded one commenter.

How Much Sleep Do Labradors Need?

Labs, like most dogs, need lots and lots of sleep to be happy. Most dogs spend a good portion of their day dozing. They’ll sleep about eight hours sleeping during the night and then up to eight resting throughout the day. It all makes so much sense now! Mabel was just trying to get her 16 hours in!
