One grandpa and his granddog have found the greatest way to spend time together! They both share a deep affinity and love for all things Hot Wheels and enjoy racing them together. Actually, Grandpa likes racing them while Whiskey, the Terrier mix, just loves racing around after them!
Grandpa had been saying that he was worried because he didn’t have anyone who could inherit his collection. I don’t think that’s an issue, anymore, as he found someone who adores them just as much as he does.
Whiskey came into this family in May as a foster dog, and then officially became a “foster fail” as the family decided to permanently adopt her when she fit in so well. In checking the TikTok, grandpa came to visit not even a week ago, and he bonded pretty instantaneously with Whiskey, which was pretty cute to see. More on that later. Viewers just can’t get enough of this! “I can’t stop watching this, it’s so adorable,” replied one viewer. “Best grandpa and grandpup duo ever,” said another.

When you watch Whiskey locking on to the hot wheels race, she loves nothing more than tearing after these little metal cars, her focus completely unwavering. Terriers have a very high prey drive, which is a dog’s natural instinct to find, chase and catch prey. No, a Hot Wheel isn’t prey — but those fast movements awaken that instinct in her, and it’s great enrichment for her to race after these little cars — an excellent, safe way to exhaust both her mind and body.

It’s so cute that what started as grandpa’s pastime has become this shared ritual where a terrier’s instincts are kind of melding with one family’s tradition. Judging from Whiskey’s focus, determination, and sheer enthusiasm, there’s absolutely no question she’s exactly where she belongs and this “foster fail” was one of absolute perfection.
