Finding your voice is a huge part of being alive. Most living things vocalize in one way or another, and learning how to do that typically happens soon after coming into the world. For example, most babies enter the world with a cry, and they don’t stop doing it!
For one baby cow, it didn’t take her very long at all to find her “moo.” At just a few hours old, she was both standing and voicing all of her opinions as loudly as she possibly could… which was surprisingly loud.
Boutique Highland Cattle not only breeds gorgeous, show-quality Highland Cows, but also hilarious ones. There are several living on the ranch at any given moment, and they genuinely get treated like part of the family. The happier your calves are, the better they’ll settle into their forever homes!
In this video, the little calf (whose name is Daisy) was just 8 hours old when she started mooing her little heart out. She seems to be a favorite among everyone on the ranch; she gets dressed up for the holidays and is treated like a little princess.

Daisy is a little less than a month old, but she’s already growing very nicely. She eats well, plays hard, and socializes with her parents and the other cows on the farm as best she can. It can be a little bit of a struggle for her to keep up, but she tries her best!
If you think 8-hour-old Daisy is impressive with her big girl moos, you should take a look at 24-hour-old Daisy and her full-blown zoomies.
She is the sweetest little girl ever! I’m glad she’s getting a chance to have fun.
Cows aren’t quite like humans, and calves aren’t quite babies. Whereas human babies are basically a puddle for the first few months of their lives, most calves are standing, mooing, walking, and nursing within minutes of being born.
In fact, it becomes a little worrisome if a calf isn’t standing, walking, and nursing within about an hour of being born. Imagine if a baby were born and immediately started doing all that?!
