Having a pregnant dog means deciding whether to keep any of the pups or to find them forever homes. For some of the mamas, the litter is a lot smaller—like maybe just one puppy—making the decision a little tougher. I don’t know who could resist scooping up that lone baby and making them part of the family, too (I could never be that strong!).
Luckily, I’m not the only one who feels this way! One Dachshund mama had a single puppy named Snickers—and she got to keep him. Now, the two are the sweetest sight!

Thanks to @jiiiimenam for gifting the world the most precious 32 seconds you’ll see this week. One Dachshund is a blessing, but seeing the new doggy mom love on her only child is a real delight to witness. It’s obvious this girl was meant to be a parent because she’s doing an amazing job.
The clip shows some of the duo’s most swoon-worthy moments since Snickers came into the world, and I’ve got to say—it’s warming my cold, dead heart! As cute as pretty much all puppies are, this little guy is almost too much to handle!
Together, they’re the epitome of “cuteness overload,” and hundreds of fans have been brought to tears by their bond.
“OK, I’m at work rn. I can’t be crying like this AT WORK,” one person shared in the comments. “Why am I crying? They’re so preciousssssss,” another added. “She made her own little bestie,” another wrote.

Snickers Is a ‘Singleton’ Puppy
Litters of one—called a singleton—are a rarity and only affect approximately 1% of dogs. That makes Snickers even cooler, and his bond with Mom even more close-knit.
As precious as Mom and baby are now, it gets even better looking back at Snickers’ early days when he was just a small fry. Watch as he goes from a day old to 3 months right before your eyes!
It’s nice to see a mom keep at least one of her babies, but it’s even more special if there’s only one puppy who’ll be by her side for years to come!
