Woman Installs Doggy Door and Accidentally ‘Adopts’ Neighbor’s Dog

Michal Ruth is dog mom to two black dogs, Jett and Jenna, and is now apparently the adopted mom of her neighbor’s dog, Billie, too. Michal recently had a doggy door installed for her pups, and while they’re still getting used to how it works, the neighbor’s dog had no problem figuring it out and making herself right at home!

Imagine waking up to a dog jumping into bed with you at 7 a.m…but it’s not your dog. That’s exactly what happened to Michal. Billie busted through the fence, discovered she could stroll right into her friends’ house through the doggy door, and decided to do just that. And judging by her excitement, she couldn’t be happier to join her buddies!

We laughed when Michal said in the caption, “We installed a doggy door. Billie installed herself.” She really did, and in the cutest way possible. Jett and Jenna don’t seem to mind having her around one bit!

Commenters’ Funny Reactions to Billie’s Unexpected Use of the Doggy Door

If you’re a pawrent with a doggy door, you know that sometimes unexpected visitors use it too. When my twins were babies, our West Highland Terrier actually taught them how to crawl through it, so we had to block it off to keep them from going in and out of the house with the dogs. We also found lizards inside, and even a tiny snake and a little bird once, too. As convenient as doggy doors are, they definitely come with their disadvantages!

Viewers got a kick out of Billie using Michal’s doggy door like it was her own. @Ruth Tater Chinsburg joked, “You did it, mama. You’re the house all of your kids’ friends want to hang out at!”

@Minister_of_Recreation pointed out, “Of course. A Boxer,” and many others agreed, including @Nonya, “Yup, exactly my thought. Of course it was a Boxer! LOL!” @Alice added, “I’m an introvert, but I have a Boxer, didn’t know they were the MOST extrovert dog breed ever, so I know all my neighbors well LOL!”

Commenter @Aurora Cash asked what we were all wondering, “I need to know what the neighbors think!” @Michal replied, “I puppy-sit for them occasionally when they travel. And Billie always goes to the dog park with us. They were more concerned about my reaction than they were about Billie. Lol she’s a good pup!”

We hope Michal shares more stories about Billie using the doggy door – this one totally made our day!
