Dachshund Does Little Dance When She Gets Brushed and It’s Everything

We all look forward to a little grooming and pampering from time to time, and dogs are no exception.

Actually, some dogs hate getting groomed or taking a bath, but for the ones who love it, they really love it.

One prime example is this adorable Dachshund getting her hair brushed.

The long-haired, black-and-brown Dachshund almost has a smile on her face as she gets her chest hair brushed, and then we start to see her do a little dance, going from side to side.

This Dachshund is in heaven!

She is really feeling the groove of that brush!

How Often Should I Get My Dachshund Groomed?

If you are wondering how often you should get your Dachshund groomed, well, like most things, that depends.

To start, grooming frequency for a Dachshund depends on coat type. For smooth-haired pups, they may need brushing only once a week (if that).

But for those gorgeous Longhaired Dachshunds like the one in the video, the brushing probably needs to increase or even be done daily.

Wirehaired Dachshunds also benefit from a weekly brushing session as well as hand-stripping to keep the coat nice and healthy.

OK, so we’ve gotten the brushing cadence down, but what about bathing Dachshunds?

That is a little less work! Dachshunds may only require a bath every two to three months or when they get super dirty, as you don’t want to dry out their skin.

This is where professional grooming may be a little bit more necessary for Wirehaired and Longhaired Dachshunds.

Other grooming treatments, including nail trimming and ear cleaning, should be performed regularly.

Hopefully, your dog enjoys it as much as this one and even does their own little dance!
