A family had just arrived home and was unlocking their front door when a coyote approached them. Or at least they thought a coyote was approaching them.
However, after a minute, they realized that the curious animal who had followed them to their front door was not a coyote at all, but a lost dog.
As this family soon discovered, this lost dog, who goes by the name of Sprite, is about as much a coyote as a newborn kitten is king of the jungle.
Like everyone else who saw this viral video detailing Sprite’s story, this family quickly learned that this little dog is a total sweetheart.
In this ring camera footage, this family tries and hilariously fails to elude Sprite. The comical, entertaining nature of this video is only part of why this footage went viral earlier this month.
We think the biggest reason this footage struck a chord with viewers because it allows them to learn Sprite’s story while also offering a glimpse of her kind nature and sparkling personality.

As this woman realized when she commented on Sprite’s friendly demeanor and began giving her some attention and affection, this adorable five-month-old puppy is a pure sweetie with a heart of gold.
According to this Instagram post, this kindhearted family did everything they could to find Sprite’s parents; however, no one ever came forward to claim this precious fur baby.
Where Is Sprite Now?
After the unfruitful search for Sprite’s human parents, Dog Squad, a South Carolina-based nonprofit for rescue dogs, sponsored her vaccinations and is actively working to help her find a forever home.
They describe her as being “incredibly smart, gentle, and full of love.” They also note that she is acing her crate training, house training, as well as her basic commands.
Sprite weighs 24 pounds and has a bubbly disposition perfectly befitting her name as she greets every dog and person she meets with “a wagging tail and sparkling eyes. She’s sweet, goofy, and such a bright little soul…”
