We’re definitely not above viral trends. And while the “Dog Intelligence Test” involving putting your dog up next to a wall to see if they’ll put their paw out to stop their heads from hitting it might be a bit played out, it does still create some funny TikTok content—especially when it involves three dogs that live together. That’s what we came across in a recent TikTok from user @aguyandagolden.
The 48-second clip, which currently has hundreds of thousands of views, features three different dogs taking the intelligence test. The video is captioned, “Seeing which dog is smartest!” It starts with dogs’ human parent holding the first golden retriever to take the test. “Seeing which one of my dogs is most intelligent,” he says. Then he explains that supposedly, they’re supposed to stick their paw out against the wall if they’re intelligent.
“Teddy Is the Brains of the Operation!”
“Let’s start with the baby,” the man says as he moves the first golden retriever closer and closer to the wall. The paw does not go toward the wall, and the man laughs as the dog’s nose is pressed gently against it. “Let’s try again,” the man says, laughing as he puts the first golden retriever back against the wall again. Same result. The doggo’s head gets pressed right up against the wall. “Roo did not pass,” the man says, naming the younger golden retriever. “Let’s try Archie.”

Archie goes next! “I think that was an attempt,” the man says as he pushes the second doggo against the wall. “Let me free up his arms.” No dice. Archie’s head hits the wall with no attempt to block it. “OK, maybe not,” the man says. “One more time.” Still no dice. “OK. Archie didn’t pass either,” the man says.
Teddy, the eldest golden retriever, is the final hope. “Now for Teddy,” the man says. And Teddy nails it immediately. The paw goes straight for the wall! “Oh! Teddy! One more time,” the man says, making sure Teddy can do it again. “We got the smart one here,” the man says after Teddy nails it again. Congrats, Teddy!
Teddy did better than another golden retriever recently put to the test. Golden retrievers are considered intelligent dogs that are easy to train, thanks to their love for humans. And that’s what makes golden retrievers so amazing and popular, especially among families. They have a deep love for humans.
