When cats are expecting, they want to be surrounded by the people they trust the most. Usually, that’s a reserved spot for Mom or Dad. If you’re lucky, the mom-to-be forms a bond with their human sibling, who can be the symbol of support and comfort when birthing time comes.
This is exactly the scenario that recently played out with a pregnant Maine Coon and the little girl she loves most. This is one sweet story for the books.

What a precious relationship between the mama cat and her human! She’s devoted to making sure labor and delivery go smoothly, only building more trust with the Maine Coon mama. It’s enough to make us go, “awww!”

As amazing as it is to see a child and the kitty she cares for, it’s the kittens Honey birthed who deserve a little more attention (because, kittens!).

It may seem obvious that having pets and kids together is pure magic, but there are some reasons that go a little deeper than just how cute they are.
Aside from providing and teaching comfort, empathy, and kindness, having a beloved fur friend can also help with learning and responsibility. Those things directly correlate to higher self-esteem and a more compassionate kid.
Having a pet also shows children the importance of forming strong bonds, which is pretty important in life. That said, Honey and her girl are the best example for all those reasons and then some!
