Niall Harbison comes across numerous injured and abused dogs through his Thailand animal rescue, Happy Doggo. Thanks to his on-site sanctuary and new full-service medical clinic, Harbison can tend to canines in serious need of physical and emotional care.
One of his most recent rescues is a senior dog he named Biscotti. She was very scared and suffering from several health issues when Harbison intervened.
In the Instagram video from @niall.harbison, Biscotti stood in the street with a look of fear and despair.
“It was time to transform this old street dog’s life forever,” the onscreen text read. “She’d been hit by a car recently. Age was catching up on her.”
In addition to the car injury, Biscotti was suffering from a nose issue and some sort of skin condition that needed medical intervention. People in the community had been helping her and reached out to Harbison.
“Kind locals caring for her asked if we could get her to safety,” the story continued as Harbison and his team members carefully approached Biscotti, who was terrified of the strangers. “She was hiding and shaking.”
Biscotti wouldn’t survive in the high-traffic area she was in, especially with her poor health. The precious pooch let her guard down and allowed her rescuers to bring her back to the Happy Doggo sanctuary.
“She’s very old and gentle and a little confused,” Harbison explained in the caption. “She’s used to trying to hide under shacks and trying to be invisible.”
Biscotti Gave an Encouraging Tail Wag
Back at the sanctuary, Biscotti was medically evaluated and got a well-deserved homemade meal. She must have realized she was with people who loved her, because her tail actually started to wag. Under the care of Harbison and his team, Biscotti is on her way to healing.

“For the first time ever, she has security… Biscotti knows she is safe now,” the story concluded. “Her new life has started.”
Harbison launched Happy Doggo in 2021. In addition to the sterilization and daily feeding of thousands of street dogs, he recently opened a full-service medical clinic in honor of his beloved Golden Retriever, Tina.
