Sometimes even the most well-mannered pet can surprise us, and that’s exactly what happened to the dog dad of a German Shorthaired Pointer named Bugs. While running errands at Costco, Dad opened the car door, and Bugs seized the opportunity, escaping and making a beeline straight for the big-box store.
Once inside, Bugs enjoyed some unsupervised shopping time, running through the aisles and checking everything out like a curious human (just with a lot more enthusiasm). It took Dad a full half hour to track him down, and where Bugs was finally found will come as no surprise to anyone!
If we had to guess where he’d be, we would’ve thought all of those freshly rotisserie chickens were calling Bugs’ name, or maybe the bakery. Turns out that Dad found him in the bakery after all. And the look on Bugs’ face is proof he has absolutely no regrets about sending his dad on a wild goose (we mean dog!) chase!

Commenters’ Funny Reactions to Bugs Having Zero Regrets
Of course, everybody got a kick out of Bugs’ zero-regrets spree and left some very funny comments about it. Some of our favorite comments started when @Anastacia4x4 wondered, “How’d he get through without scanning a membership card?”
@Twilight replied, “He’s an Ultra Executive member; they don’t need to scan. LOL!” Another commenter then replied, “I thought he still needed to scan his bark-code…” @NicoleW spoke for all of us when she then replied, “There are not enough likes on this for how funny this comment is.”
“Talk about a Costco run,” said @mydogsnamisdirk. @texmexoo89 pointed out, “He’s clearly still browsing.”
Everybody cracked up when @Abbey shared, “My parents’ dog did that at Sam’s Club. The worst part was at a busy street fair, someone recognized him as the dog in Sam’s Club.” Bugs’ dad replied, “I really want this surveillance footage.”
@FostIt02 shared, “As a Costco employee, this would’ve made my week.” As a shopper, it would’ve made mine, too!
