At first, you’ll swear you are listening to a dramatic opera aria—but as the camera keeps rolling, TikTok viewers realize the beautiful voice belongs to Brody the parrot.
Brody is a real diva, crooning his heart out for the whole house to hear. He’s quite the lyricist, too, likely inspired by the conversations going on around him all day. He passionately serenades his audience with “baaad boyyy,” (uh-oh, Brody) repeatedly, dropping in his own name and a couple of “I love you’s” into his original melody. We can also hear his flock of feathered roommates providing back-up vocals. It’s quite a lengthy show and probably would have continued if it were not for Brody’s mom interrupting his flow.
The big reveal at the end is my favorite because Brody seems a tad flustered as his human enters the room, as if he had no idea that anyone was listening to his performance. His entire concert just makes me smile and provides the best start to the day.

That, he is. But he’s also extremely intelligent, a characteristic of his particular species of parrot.

Yellow-naped Amazons are also gifted vocalists. While they’re not constant screamers, they can be very loud at times and are exceptional talkers and singers. They tend to mimic human speech with remarkable clarity — and they’re notorious for remembering everything, including words or phrases you might wish they hadn’t learned.
With proper care, yellow-naped Amazons are extraordinarily long-lived. Many live 50 to 60 years or more, and some have been known to reach their 70s — even 90s — making them a truly lifelong commitment. That’s a lot of encore performances! Ultimately, adopting a yellow-naped Amazon means committing to the care of a creature as emotionally complex and intelligent as a human toddler — for decades to come.
