Our dogs feel the loss of a pet just as much as we do. Canines go through a grieving phase of sadness and confusion after losing a fellow fur baby, and it takes time for them to heal. Sometimes, bringing another four-legged friend into the family is highly beneficial in the recovery process.
This sweet Golden Retriever recently lost a canine sibling and has been suffering without her BFF by her side, but a new puppy pal just put a spring back in her step.
The TikTok from @Molly.smyth showed the gorgeous Golden standing in a room with her mom, waiting expectantly for some sort of delivery. When someone came out with an adorable Golden Retriever puppy, the precious pooch didn’t hesitate to greet the fur baby with loving sniffs and nonstop tail wags.
“Getting our grieving dog a puppy,” the onscreen text explained.
The comments section revealed that the family had recently lost their 14-year-old dog, and the Golden Retriever was truly struggling with grief. The Golden’s mom felt that the love of a puppy could bring some joy back into her life.
Her mom was right. The Golden Retriever immediately perked up and automatically took on the big sister role. She was obviously thrilled with the new addition and took the little pup under her wing (or paw). The puppy was also instantly smitten and more than happy to bond with her big sis.
