Older siblings often teach their younger brothers and sisters a lot in life. This applies to our fur babies as well, where an elder dog frequently shows their junior sibling the ropes of daily living. My senior Dachshund took on her big-sister role like a pro when we adopted her Pug mix brother. She took him under her wing — I mean, paw — and helped him learn some basic tasks like climbing stairs, playing tug-of-war, and minding his manners.
This Border Collie obviously takes her job as the older sibling just as seriously and helped her little puppy brother Buzz learn one of her favorite games.
In the TikTok from @thegoldenboybuzz, the Border Collie was outside with Buzz as they stood around a setup tetherball game. The Golden Retriever puppy sniffed at the ball but wasn’t sure what to do with it. Buzz jumped around, expecting it to move on its own so the game could get started. His big sister could see his struggle and decided to step in.
“Watch our Border Collie teach our Golden puppy how to play her favorite game with her,” the onscreen text read.
The older sibling went over to the ball and nudged it, showing Buzz that he had to move the ball himself. The precious puppy jumped around in excitement but still didn’t understand the game.
The Border Collie then gave a full demonstration, almost like she was saying, “See, this is how you do it”. She pushed and chased the ball around, then brought the ball all the way around the pole so Buzz could see how it’s done. The Border Collie even held the ball still so Buzz could give it a try.
Buzz Was a Good Student
The older sibling had a very attentive student who really wanted to learn. Buzz sat and patiently watched the demonstration, probably wishing he had a pen and paper to take notes. He tried the game whenever she gave him a chance, and I’m betting he got the hang of it quickly under her tutelage.

Followers loved the tender scene and praised the sweet relationship between the fur babies.
“Your Border Collie is trying to make it longer for your little pup — that just warms my heart so much,” one wrote.
“That’s so adorable. He’s actually hitting the ball with his paws, while she uses her mouth. That’s LOVE,” another raved.
“They’ll play tetherball for years to come,” someone remarked.
These two fur babies are a wonderful example of the unbreakable bond between siblings.
