“When a dog seeks out a specific person for rest or physical closeness, it likely means that that person feels safe, familiar and comforting,” Kenny says. “Dogs are extremely well-versed in pattern recognition, and they often choose the individual they associate with consistent calmness, predictability, and positive interactions.”
